In the Corporate world scenario has changed from Compliance Management to “Expression of Policies, Needs and Execution, Compliance Management”. Now the scope is not limited to statutory compliance, but it is beyond that,the purpose of betterment in work practices. This gives giving feel-good while reading policies well displayed, but for any industry, it is very much essential to integrate policies with practices, and if any policy is not applicable or does not fit to frame of the nature of industries should not make such policies to displayed, leading to complexity.

It is the responsibility of the Managers to understand what is needed of the particular policy within their Industries. In general, policies are ever born out of statutory requirements, customer requirements, as well as some national/international standards (ISO etc). So, most of the time, managers follow a checklist leading to the creation of policies. So, policies are shaped more by statements and not commitment to compliance elements therein. For a better example, if any industry’s policy statement for employment speaks for an age limit should be 18 years on the date of appointment, at the same time, another policy stands as “Prohibition of child Labour “at the workplace and remittance in accordance.And if we ask why this is required when the employment policy is very clear, the simple answer is that “It is our policy to display as per the checklist of particular system standards. This type of policy concept is not required; here it is required to enhance of employment policy by some content of child labour and remittance in accordance.
I believed that managers have to first gather inputs for the needs of the policy, draft policy contents, gather feedback on contents, prepare the final policy to review/communicate/educate people on the concept and how to comply. After that, with policy has to be executed at work workplace, monitor its impact, violations, grievances settlement, and prepare reports to management with proposing the scope of enhancement in the policy.
