The workplace has changed rapidly over the last two decades. With digital systems, policies, metrics, and compliance frameworks becoming central to HR, we’ve earned our seat at the strategy table. Yet in this pursuit of structure and efficiency, an important element sometimes gets lost in the process-the very word that defines our function: Human.
As HR professionals, we are expected to be structured, policy-driven, and professional. But should that come at the cost of empathy? Are we listening less and processing more? Are we protecting the system, but unintentionally isolating the people?
