Rights and Duties of Apprentices
Apprentices must follow the lawful instructions of their employer and superiors. They must conduct themselves with discipline, respect workplace norms, and maintain decorum.

A-RIGHTS

To get Training

Apprentices have the right to receive practical training in their designated trade or occupation. The training must be in accordance with a structured program approved by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or the concerned authority. Fresher apprentices (with no prior technical education) are entitled to Basic Training before or along with On-the-Job Training (OJT). Basic Training must be conducted at designated Basic Training Providers (BTPs).

Stipend

Apprentices must be paid a stipend during the entire period of apprenticeship training. The amount is fixed and revised by the government from time to time. Employers cannot deduct stipend for holidays or leave granted.

Leave and Holidays

Apprentices are entitled to avail leaves and holidays as applicable/permissible at the establishment where they are imparted training.
