In order to incentivise and to boost the growth of apprenticeship training, the Central Government simplified various processes/procedural aspects contemplated under the Apprenticeship Rules 1992 (“Apprenticeship Rules“) on 4th March 22. Some of the key changes introduced under the Apprenticeship Rules include: (a) now industries will not be required to produce the proof of payment of stipend in the event the same is made to a candidate through a payment gateway; (b) the clause for holding back the stipend payment to the industry in the last quarter until a candidate appears for assessment has now been removed, enabling seamless flow of funds to the industry to undertake apprenticeship training ; (c) establishment with business in 4 (four) or more states will not be required to register at multiple locations; (d) stipend support will be given to the industry during the basic training period of the candidate.
