The newly elected executive committee of Calcutta Management Association (CMA), with Indranil Banerjee as President on 31.10.2025, successfully hosted a new edition of its acclaimed CMA Caring Minds Conversation 360 series at The Saturday Club, Kolkata, featuring Sujoy Banerjee, Group Chief People Officer of Gainwell Group, as the distinguished speaker.
The event drew more than fifty attendees, including HR professionals from leading industries, entrepreneurs, students, consultants, and CMA members, underscoring the growing relevance of the event’s theme: “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Promises and Practices”.
Mr. Banerjee began by unravelling the concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion, illustrating each with practical examples and actionable insights. He emphasised the transformational impact of embracing women, transgender persons, people with disabilities, and other marginalised groups within corporate environments, highlighting how their unique skills and perspectives create new pathways to organisational success.

Addressing equity, Banerjee explored whether organisational structures treat all employees fairly and provide equal opportunities, including the necessary infrastructure to remove barriers and support efficiency for every individual. On the topic of inclusion, he explained the importance of fostering emotional connection, empowering employees to participate actively in decision-making, and cultivating a sense of belonging within the workplace.
The session was enlivened by real-life examples of DEI initiatives drawn from Banerjee’s own career and other leading organisations. Participants engaged actively during the Q&A session, seeking advice on implementing DEI practices and expressing thanks for the speaker’s insightful observations.
The Association founded in 1957 will be celebrating its Platinum Jubilee in two years time.
