Sonali Roychowdhury joins Mars Snacking as Chief People and Organisation Officer for AMEA

Mars Snacking has appointed Sonali Roychowdhury as its new Chief People and Organisation Officer for the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region.

Confirming the development in a social media post, Roychowdhury said she was “excited to step into the role leading People and Organisation for Mars Snacking, Asia Middle East and Africa (AMEA)”, describing it as a unique opportunity to bring together two iconic businesses—Kellanova and Mars—while building on their shared values and complementary cultures. She added that she looked forward to learning alongside associates across the region and translating the organisation’s people promise into action.

Prior to joining Mars Snacking, Roychowdhury served as Chief Human Resources Officer for AMEA at Kellanova.

A seasoned People & Culture leader, Roychowdhury brings over 25 years of leadership experience across large multinational organisations. An internationally fluent senior executive, she has worked extensively across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, partnering closely with C-suite leaders and executive committees to build organisations where business performance and people outcomes reinforce one another. Her global career has been shaped by diverse cultural contexts, complex operating environments and periods of significant organisational change.

Known for combining strong commercial discipline with cultural intelligence and a human-centred leadership approach, Roychowdhury is regarded as a trusted advisor at the executive level. Over the past decade, she has also been an investor and advisor to HR technology start-ups, offering an external perspective on digital HR transformation and enterprise adoption.

During her career at Procter & Gamble, Kellanova (formerly Kellogg Company) and Mars, she has led large-scale organisational transformations, including end-to-end mergers and acquisitions and complex integrations—most recently, the integration of Kellanova into Mars. Her remit has spanned culture and leadership alignment, workforce and operating model design, talent retention, change management and governance, with a focus on value protection during transitions.

Roychowdhury holds a postgraduate degree in Human Resources from XLRI, executive coaching credentials from Columbia University, and a CHRO certification from Cornell University’s ILR School.
