Tech Mahindra Ltd. has denied rumours circulating on social media about large-scale layoffs, saying the company is not planning any major reduction in its workforce.
In an exchange filing on Monday, the IT services company clarified that claims about potential job cuts being widely shared online are incorrect.
The clarification follows several posts on social media platform X suggesting that the company could reduce its workforce significantly.
One widely shared post claimed that as many as 30,000 employees could be laid off, with the alleged move linked to increasing adoption of artificial intelligence across the technology sector.

Other users also suggested that AI integration across global technology firms could lead to job reductions at the company.
Tech Mahindra did not comment on specific social media posts but said the reports about a planned headcount reduction are false.
According to the company’s latest quarterly disclosures, Tech Mahindra employs nearly 1.5 lakh people globally, and the overall workforce size has remained broadly stable in recent quarters.
The company recently announced a collaboration with Microsoft to launch an ontology-driven Agentic AI platform, aimed at accelerating telecom and enterprise data modernisation.
The initiative is part of Tech Mahindra’s broader push to integrate AI capabilities into enterprise services and telecom solutions.
Despite the growing focus on AI adoption, the company said no proposal for mass layoffs is currently under consideration.
