New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), one of India’s leading Maharatna public sector enterprises, has appointed Pushp Kumar Nayar as Director (Human Resources), marking a significant leadership development in the company’s people management function. The appointment was approved by BPCL’s Board following communication from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, with effect from May 27, 2026.
Announcing the appointment, Co in a social media statement said that Prior to assuming the board-level role, Nayar served as Executive Director (HRD) at BPCL. Bringing more than 35 years of experience across retail marketing, lubricants, supply chain operations and human resources, he has built a reputation for driving operational excellence, organisational transformation and customer-focused growth initiatives. Throughout his career, he has held several strategic leadership assignments across BPCL’s business verticals and geographies, including a deputation stint with Indraprastha Gas Limited.

A graduate of the University of Delhi with an MBA from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Nayar has played a pivotal role in strengthening BPCL’s talent management architecture. His contributions include leadership development, succession planning, talent review processes and the integration of HR analytics and AI-driven interventions to support data-based decision-making.
His expertise in fostering a performance-oriented culture and enhancing organisational capability is expected to support the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Nayar currently serves as Chairman of Arunachal Gas Private Limited and has previously been associated with the boards of Central UP Gas Limited and Sabarmati Gas Limited.
