HR has traditionally been viewed as a support or cost function. What needs to change for HR to be recognised as a genuine creator of business value?
PS As we are aware, human civilisation has evolved over thousands of years. At every stage of its evolution, progress has been driven by the creation of value. From tools that enhanced human capability to institutions that enabled collective action… societies have advanced by finding new ways to create value for individuals and communities.
Organisations are no different. If HR is to maintain its relevance in an increasingly complex and AI-enabled world, it too must move beyond managing processes and people. Therefore, HR must focus on creating meaningful value for the business, its people and its stakeholders.
What greater value becomes possible when HR stops managing activities and starts designing conditions for people, teams and organisations to create value?
