HR Needs To Shift From "Activity Measuring" To "Impact Measuring"
In this changing business environment, HR cannot remain focused merely on activities, processes or traditional people metrics. The real question is: What measurable impact is HR creating on growth, productivity, profitability and competitiveness? How can HR demonstrate a measurable connection between its initiatives and business outcomes such as growth, productivity, profitability and competitiveness?

SS It is my personal belief that HR and Business are two sides of the same coin. They are like players of a cricket team possessing different skill sets, like spinners, batsmen, openers, fast bowlers, wicket keepers, etc. Each one has its own direct and indirect impact on the game.

HR has evolved with time, and its interventions have measurable connections which can be categorised into 1) Invisible and 2) Visible. Invisible metrics are engagement score, Attrition Reduction rate, Recruitment cost rationalisation, etc. On the other-hand Visible metrics are the changes occurring due to factors like i) employee capability enhancement impacting business or ii) Effective manager training enhancing team performance, or iii) reduced attrition cutting replacement costs and retaining higher productivity per employee.
