YB In the book titled “Beyond HR”, a beautiful concept of Talent ship has been explained. The organization struggle of not been able to find the right talent has a lot to do with its Talent Strategy. Organisations have a strategic focus on business, customers, products and finance, but we hardly see organisations taking talent decisions seriously. Secondly, the talent decisions are delegated only to the CHRO of the HR function. The funniest aspect is that the CHRO or HR function is asked to work on talent strategy based on already prepared and approved business strategy, which includes customer, market, product and finance strategies. So, the talent strategy becomes a reactive response from the CHRO or HR function to the already decided business strategy.
